What I’ve Loved Reading This Week – 30th July

As I wrote this title, I can’t quite believe it’s nearly August! Where has this year gone? It is whizzing by and already a week of summer holidays is over. It’s been lovely to have a bit more of a relaxed vibe to the week, and the summer seems to be here. And what’s more it’s the weekend – a lovely time to have Daddy around and do lots of fun things together.

This week I’ve enjoyed some fab blogs from some of my already favourite bloggers and I do hope you enjoy them too:

The gorgeous Fi from Beauty Baby and Me wrote Yes, I’m Still Tired! – I absolutely loved this one. Fi’s brilliant blog was one of the first I discovered when I started blogging and I’m a massive fan of her writing. Always packed with positivity and those words of encouragement all mums need to hear sometimes, this one really spoke to me as I definitely have those days where everything is pretty overwhelming and I have to just slow it down.

I loved Parenting Can Be Lonely by Over Heaven’s Hill. I thought this was such an honest and open post, with so much truth in it. Particularly around the 5-6 month mark of Emma’s life, I do remember feeling really isolated as all the visitors had dried up and it felt like very long days before my other half came home from work. I love Geraldine’s tips to get through it too, it’s well worth a read.

Another one of my favourite blogs is Teacuptoria and this week I really enjoyed reading her post Watch Out World. I love Victoria’s writing, always from the heart and it often feels like we’re chatting over a cup of tea. I’ve been reading her posts avidly over the last month and was so happy to read this one, I could feel her happiness beaming off the page. It was such a feel-good post to read!

I’m sure you’ve heard of the brilliantly funny Beta Mummy by now; this week I really enjoyed her Beta Mummy Cooks…Cheese On Toast. When I read her posts, I always breathe a little sigh of relief that I’m not the only one, and this was another classic! Yep, I’ve been there picking off the mould from the bread as I make my stepson cheese on toast and just yesterday, we were making it again and staring at the grill so as not to burn our breakfast! A brilliant post and I had such a chuckle reading this.

Lastly, I loved Sod The Guilt written by The Parenting Jungle, and featured on Meet Other Mums.com. I love Jade’s beautiful writing and this one really spoke to me. Aren’t we always making ourselves feel too guilty over every little detail? I thought this was a really powerful post and one we all need to hear sometimes – let go of that guilt and remind ourselves that we’re all doing amazing.

So that rounds it up for my weekly reads, which I’m now doing fortnightly so I can grab the best that I’ve read! Hope you enjoyed it and do let me know in the comments what your favourite post from the week has been.

I love the idea of this and may have to try it myself. I’m still catching up on posts but I did see Beta Mummy and Teacuptoria and very much enjoy them both. It’s always nice to get a good laugh and feel motivated after reading posts. Thanks for sharing #TribalLove
