We were introduced to Brio last year with a timeless train set and ever since Emma has fallen in love with their toys. Brio toys are always great quality, long-lasting and classic designs – so when we were asked to review the Brio Builder Deluxe Set, I knew Emma would have such fun getting stuck in as she’s always loved building things whether it’s a space rocket or a tall tower!
What I loved about this set is that it comes in a box with all the parts inside, which is guaranteed to be a hit with Emma. For as long as I remember, Emma has loved boxes, tins and trinkets and the Brio Builder Deluxe Set was no exception – she was excited to open it up straight away. Unlike a lot of other toys I’ve seen, this one seems to encourage the child’s imaginative play and fits in so well with how Emma loves to play.
Opening up the box, there were over 270 pieces to choose from as well as tools such as a screwdriver, hammer, spanner and pliers. The pieces are grouped together and individually wrapped, making it great for travelling with and there was also a handy instruction leaflet inside with a few ideas to get us started. It was great fun playing with the set together and Emma started creating lots of different shapes with the tools. We’ve had the set for a few weeks now and keep returning to it every night to build something brand new; I can tell already that it is a set that will last a long time.
The Brio Builder Set is aimed at aged three years plus and is priced at £85, but I think Emma will get enjoyment out of this toy set for years to come. Although it is a higher price than I would usually pay, it is such great quality that I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it for a birthday present in the future. It is available from most toy retailers and also from amazon.com.
