My Sunday Photo – 3rd July 2016

It’s Sunday again and I come with an apology for not posting one last week…I was travelling home from #BML16 with full intentions of posting it, but decided not to. I spent 2 nights away: the first night was at my brother and sister-in-law’s flat, which was lovely and homely.

It was such a luxury to be on my own and get a full night’s sleep! And then the next night I had booked into The Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch. After the big day that was BML16, I returned to my room and I just wanted to be at home. Typical, eh?! Soย in the morning, I raced home on the 7am train and spent the whole day with my family. I held them tight as I had really missed them and decided to leave blogging til the next day…

Image of Ovingdean beach from the highest point as you walk down to the beachfront. A man is running up the hill and you can see the cliffs on the left and coastline all the way to Rottingdean.

This weekend, we spent some time at my favourite part of the coastline in Brighton, Ovingdean. I love how uncrowded it is, even on the sunniest of days and how the water glistens as the sun beats down on it. The walk down to the beachfront is one of the steepest I’ve ever seen in Brighton, so the guy in this picture gets extra brownie points in my opinion for not just giving up and lying on the floor in a heap. When you get down to the promenade, you can walk all the way to Rottingdean if you turn left and all the way back to Brighton/Hove if you turn right.

Afterwards we went for a big fry up at Roedean Cafe, which is always amazing and very yummy. It’s old school and ever so slightly reminds me of Little Chef (shhh don’t tell my other half I said that) but it is wonderful. That’s what weekends are all about for me, lots of time together to catch up as the Monday-Friday week is so busy.

What did you get up to this weekend?

Aww I know what you mean about spending time away from the family – you just can’t wait to get back to them! BML was amazing though wasn’t it – so inspirational. Sounds like a lovely weekend, Bridie. You’re so lucky to live by the coast – one of my dreams one day – especially as we adore sailing as a family! xx and, yes, absolute brownie points for that runner – ouchy!

That’s a lovely photo. I’m pretty sure I mentioned it before, but I really would love to visit Brighton. I haven’t got up to much this weekend. There’s been rain and thunder and it’s been quite chilly. #MySundayPhoto
