Hello June! I can’t believe another month has rolled on by…May is always one of my favourite months,
as it’s my birthday as well as my mum’s and generally I can start to feel summer on its way. I say generally, because yesterday we had the biggest downpour of rain, which made me say the predictable “what’s going on, it should be summer!”
It’s the first time I’ve done a monthly round-up but I’ve been thinking about it for a few weeks now. Initially I was doing weekly happy lists, and I loved doing them but then I realised that to be quite honest some weeks, not a great deal happens ha. So here is my monthly ‘happy’ – things that have made me smile and jump cartwheels inside.
Emma has been babbling away and is getting so much more sturdy on her feet. It’s been wonderful because she feels more proud of herself being able to get around!
This weekend we’ve had a wonderful weekend in London and I can’t describe how amazing it is to spend quality time together. Sometimes we need to step away from our day to day surroundings to relax a little as there’s always something to do around the house!
It was my birthday this month! I had a wonderful birthday and was surprised with my family coming down to Brighton to see me and a beautiful cake with candles. I love birthday but somehow as a new mum, the excitement seems to be a little less as there is so much to think about day to day.
Lots of trips to the swings when it’s been sunny has been truly lovely. Emma gets so excited when she goes on the swings now, and lets out some of the most joyous laughs I’ve ever heard!
It’s been so lovely to get to know the #tribalchat girls a bit more – I’ve said it before but they are so encouraging and it really makes all the difference. Some days I can find blogging a bit lonely and start to doubt myself and they are always right there, offering genuine and honest support.
I decided this month to take the plunge and get a ticket to #BML16 – the Brit Mums Conference. I’m so glad I did as I’ve met a few other bloggers who are going too and turns out, everyone is feeling a little apprehensive! I’m so excited to meet everyone and put faces to names after chatting on Twitter over the past couple of months.
Massive news for me is that I’ve been asked me be a brand ambassador for Cake Cetera! I was so chuffed as my blog is still relatively new – very exciting indeed to be involved and it does indeed involve cake testing 🙂
I was also pretty chuffed to find out that I have entered the Rise Parent Bloggers Leaderboard at #202! It was totally unexpected as I had no idea where my blog would be in amongst so many fantastic parent blogs, but quite an achievement for me.
I’ve been really happy to be getting in the groove of writing almost every day – I’m finding it great for practice and in May have published 20 posts! My favourites from this month are Body Fit vs Mind Fit and What’s The Worst That Could Happen?
So here’s to another month! It’s sure to be a big one as my other half is going away for a couple of weeks and at the same time, I will be attending #BML16 and have lots of fun things planned with Emma too. Hope you have a great month too xxx
