I was recently nominated by the lovely Lex from No Manual To Mummy to take part in the Sunshine Blogger Award, which I’ve seen floating around the blogosphere. I love a tag and have been secretly hoping that someone would nominate so I’m thrilled to take part! It involves answering a set of 10 random questions, and the nosy side of me loves reading things like this, so hope you enjoy it too. I also found it really lovely that she was thinking of me and put my name down, which has been the little bit of sunshine to my week.
So without further ado…
If you could be any age for a week, what age would you be and why? I loved being 25 – I was pretty established in my job, but had got rid of that teenage angst. It was a relatively carefree time, just working and socialising with my friends in London. I’d love to do all of that again and appreciate it a bit more!
Do you have any nicknames? If so, how did you get them? I have quite a few nicknames! I’m not sure if it’s because my name is quite easy to shorten but I hardly ever get called Bridget, unless I’m at work or I’m in serious trouble. So here goes: Bridge, Bridgey, Bridie, B-McG, Bee, Squidge and Mummmyyy! Most of them are just variations of my name but my other half started calling me Bridie ages ago as it’s an Irish version of my name, which has stuck.
Do you have any phobias? I’m definitely scared of weird looking spiders and get creeped out by the thought of them being around when I’m unaware. Camping is not great for me! I’m also scared of heights and completely freaked out when I went to the Empire State Building and Blue Mountains in Sydney.
What’s one thing you regret? Spending so much time worrying about things that are out of my control. I could worry for hours on end and it’s something I’m trying to stop doing!
If you could make one wish, what would it be? That my family are happy and healthy. And maybe to win the lottery one day 😉
Would you rather go back and change the past or know your future? Ooh such an interesting one! I think I’d go crazy if I knew my future, so it has to be going back to the past. Perhaps I’d be one of those floating people, like in It’s A Wonderful Life and go back and change little things, but not a lot.
What is your favourite festive holiday? It’s got to be Christmas! I am still like a kid around Christmas and love all the excitement of buying things for other people and seeing if they like them. I can’t wait for this year’s holiday as my daughter is that little bit older and will know what presents are. It’s also the one time of year that our whole family gets together so that’s pretty special in itself.
What is your dream job? I’d love to be able to work from home so I could be with the kids more. It’s hard commuting and juggling everything, and maybe one day I can make the freelance dream come true. For now, it’s working just fine but having that flexibility would be amazing.
If you could give yourself one piece of advice at 16 years old, what would it be? It’s going to be just fine. Your skin is going to clear up, you’ll stop worrying what people think of you and things are going to get really good.
Why did you start blogging? When Emma was around 12 months, I really craved doing something just for me. It had felt like a long time battling with sleep deprivation and finding our routine, to weaning her…and as we found that set routine, I really wanted a little project that I could escape to when she was sleeping. What I didn’t know was that blogging is so addictive and that I would still be doing it now!
Huge thanks to Lex for nominating me, it was fun taking part…I’m not going to tag certain people as lots have done this one already, but do feel free to have a go if you fancy it!
