Emma’s favourite programme is without a doubt Bing. We’ve tried others like Peter Rabbit and Postman Pat but there’s just something about the bunny’s huge eyes that makes her smile! The familiarity of watching the programme also seems to be a comfort to her…and now we have fully embraced the world of Bing. We have Bing’s house in her playpen as well as the bath toy, which she loves. So when the lovely guys at Acamar Films contacted us to see if we’d like to try their new baking app, I was really excited to see how Emma would like it.
We were also given a huge bag of goodies that she is loving – the talking Bing toy (which is featured in our giveaway below), an exclusive Hoppity Voosh toy and colouring activity books. All week she has been grabbing the bag and having a look at the books, thank you very much for these! I found it amazing how she instantly recognised all the characters out of context from the television show.
The app was really quick to load and required an adult to press and hold the play button which I thought was handy for little fingers like Emma’s as she is well able to swipe and press buttons even at 15 months old! The opening features the classic “round the corner not far away…” with the music – Emma found it so exciting and it really held her attention to get involved with the app. She was very excited to see what was next…
You then see Flop place to dough on the table and you can roll out the dough with the rolling pin together. This was nice and easy and I thought Flop’s reminders to Bing to roll it nice and flat was good practice for doing baking together ourselves! Emma seemed to like rolling out the dough too which was lovely.
In the next screen a set of cookie cutters appears and you can pick the one that you’d like to use to make your biscuit! We chose the classic ginger bunny…once you press the green tick it is then placed on the baking tray ready for baking π
Next chicky timer (as seen on the show) appears and Flop asks you to tap him when he rings…I thought this was a brilliant way to get the toddlers to interact with the app, and rest assured they do burn if you forget to tell Flop they are done! Then it’s onto the fun part of decorating and eating them, which was great fun. There was even a little section where you gobble them up together and can take pictures throughout.
We had a brilliant time testing the new Bing app out and it was so lovely to use the app to do something new together. I would say that I thought it would be ideal for slightly older kids – perhaps 2-3 yearΒ olds –Β but she did love the animations and joining in with decorating the cookies. Thanks again to Acamar Films for letting us try it out! I’ve filmed a little vlog of our time testing it too and hope you enjoy it…and don’t forget to enter our giveaway below for a chance to win a Talking Bing and a download code for the Bing Baking app.

The app is very simple and incredibly easy to pick up Busby got the hang of it within the first few minutes, and then continued to play it on repeat for the next hour and a half of our journey back to Yorkshire last weekend. Busby s favourite part of the game is the decorating of the biscuits, which you then get to eat as your virtual self!
