VLOG: Growing Up In The 90’s

If someone asked me what I think about the 90’s I would say: The Spice Girls, walking to the shop to buy sweets, bike rides, fighting with my brothers, learning to play cricket, dancing, laughing, agonising, fancying boys all the time, discovering the wonder of friends, discovering the heartbreak of losing friends, and above all carefree happiness. I just loved those years growing up and when the #VlogStars linky opened up this week and it was a 90’s Tag…I was excited to record it!

As I remember my teenage years, I was struck with how little worries I had. My parents gave us a wonderful childhood that was a balance of being busy but not exhausting ourselves, protecting us from the world but not too much and letting us have fun and knowing when to reign it in. I took that all for granted as a kid and now I am a mum, I understand that this delicate balance was well thought out and nothing short of brilliant. Now looking back, I want the same for Emma – I want her to experience all the things I did. I want to find that balance for her, and I can only hope that I’ll be able to find it!

But for now, I recorded this little video covering my favourite things from the 1990’s. I actually recorded another initially but as I watched back, I had somehow regressed back to a teenager and said “awesome” “cool” and “mainstream” far more than I would like to…so you’re left with this, which is much more ‘me’ and I hope you like it!

Some rather dubious choices here Miss! I’m completely down with Tammy Girl though. I once conned my mum into buying me a white patent leather mini back pack and I practically slept in bed with it, I loved it that much. Not subscribed to anything on YouTube before but I’ll have a go now….you’re brilliant at vlogging. #tribe xx

Aw my gosh the 90’s! so many good memories! Definitely the Lion King (best Disney Movie ever) We’ve watched it with our little ones but I have the impression that for them is not the same…hehe AND BSB forever for me, my first gig was with them! πŸ™‚ (blur and oasis, I liked both!) wow, so many things.. your list would be almost like mine! Thanks a lot for sharing it xx

I was definitely more of a backstreet boys fan than N*sync, although I do love Justin Timberlake. I used to spend every saturday in Tammy Girl, I had so many bad outfits from there! I loved push pops and ring pops, although you used to get so sticky. I never had a seag console, I’ve always been a nintendo fan girl, I used to spend hours playing mario kart.x

Aw! I feel sooooooo much older than you! Your memories are really sweet! And this vlog is so short! My one is going to send people into a coma! I feel think I am the oldest in the #vlogstars linky so far, so no one will be nodding along to any of my stuff! hahaha!
