Welcome back to another instalment of my favourite reads of the fortnight! This week I have been co-hosting the fabulous #KCACOLS linky with A Moment With Franca and Arthur Wears, as well as the usual #DreamTeam linky so I’ve been reading all the blog posts. I’ve loved it as I came across such wonderful ones and some blogs that I hadn’t come across before. Hope you enjoy my picks!
-I loved 36 Excuses My Kids Use To Avoid Sleep by Happy Go Mummy – it really made me laugh and as we already have trouble in the sleep department, I had so much sympathy! I’m sure we have all this to come and although I feel a bit daunted, I imagine there’ll be a few funny ones to jot down.
-Sometimes you read a post that speaks to you from start to finish and this one was just that. The brilliant Island Living 365 wrote Are You On Trend? Are You A Bad Mum? – it made me laugh all the way through as well as reassure me that I’m not the only one. And I’m on trend! Definitely worth a read.
–Lucy at Home is one of my blog discoveries over the past few weeks through the #DreamTeam linky – I find her writing so beautiful and am really enjoying her blog. Her post I Apologise, My Sweet, Sweet Daughter is just fantastic and so much of the post resonated with me. With a 12 year old age gap between James and Emma, this is something I’ve been guilty of too – sometimes I forget that James is still a kid and have slightly too high expectations of him.
-I’m loving The Mama Nurse‘s blog at the moment and in particular really enjoyed reading An Open Letter to the Dads who Make a Difference. This one is such a fabulous post and a great point too – we don’t often take a moment to recognise the amazing job that Dads do.
-Lastly, Now My Name Is Mummy wrote a fantastic post called It’s OK… #2 #mumguilt – I often feel bad that I miss my old life, so this post reassured me that I’m not the only one feeling like this. Sometimes it’s hard to cherish every single moment, and although I know I’m very lucky, it’s just so lovely to know that it’s OK to want the end of the day sometimes.
So that rounds up my top reads for the week – hope you enjoyed it and would love to know your suggestions of wonderful posts, so do let me know in the comments below!
