What I’ve Loved Reading This Week

Happy weekend everyone! Hope you’ve all had a lovely week…I’ve had quite a busy one and have been getting my linkie back on. I had a little bit of a break the couple of weeks beforehand, around the time we all attended BritMums. I wouldn’t call it blogger burnout, but rather linkie burnout! It was great to take a bit of a break and come back raring to read everyone’s lovely blogs 🙂

I saw recently that the brilliant Kate has just started a new linkie called Inspire and Flourish, which looks great. I’ve been wanting to do a ‘good reads’ roundup for a while and what better excuse than to get involved. If you’d like to get involved too, here is the link to read more about it! As well as loving the idea itself, it’s also meant to help increase your DA, which is a big incentive for me…what a wonderful idea for Kate to help all us bloggers. So here’s my roundup and I hope you enjoy my picks…

I loved this post ‘How Do You Love Yourself?‘ by Mummy in a Tutu – I read this and was nodding along the whole way through. I’ve also spent much of my twenties worrying about what people think of me – we’re often our own worst critic. I related to everything Katie wrote about and thought it was beautifully written, almost as though we were chatting about it over a cup of coffee. Definitely worth a read!

This week I had the opportunity to help out with the #StayClassyMama linky run by the brilliant The Mum Project. I had a great time helping out and this blog was my discovery of the week! The Frenchie Mummy is written by Cécile who writes in a very humorous style with French words added in. I love this, as it re-assures me that my A-Level French knowledge is still knocking around! Her post ‘Computer Says NO‘ was brilliantly funny, as she tries to fix the internet without her other half’s help…I won’t spoil the ending but you won’t be disappointed and I’ve been enjoying reading her blog ever since.

After making my vlogging debut a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been following Mumsy Mum avidly on YouTube and her blog too. I love this blog – such great variety and I end up reading for hours. This week, I particularly loved ‘To The Inconsiderate Woman On Whitstable Beach Today‘ – such an honest and raw post and something so many of us can relate to I’m sure.

Admissions of a Working Mother has been a favourite blog of mine for a while now, and I even had the pleasure of meeting Sarah at BritMums Live a few weeks ago. This week Sarah joined the vloggeration (I’m hoping that will catch on but not sure…) and recorded her first ‘v-log’ on top tips for moving house. It is hilarious and genuinely very helpful! I particularly loved the brutal honesty throughout – “if you think you can move house in a week, you are deluded!”. Sarah says that this is her first and last vlog, but I refuse to accept this and hope she records more soon 🙂

Last but my no means least, I loved this post by Mouse Moo and Me Too – a truly lovely blog I’ve been reading this week. Her post ‘Sorry About My Family, Janet‘ summed up my experiences with health visitors to a tee and took me right back to the sweat-inducing anxiety at having to get Emma weighed when she was younger. I’m really loving this blog and always have a little giggle when I read Sam’s posts.

So that rounds up my favourites from this week…are there any you would add? Let me know in the comments below and do join us in this linkie if you fancy doing your own list. Hope you enjoyed my picks and see you next time!

Some great posts in there from some of my favourite blogs! There are so many interesting posts to read every week – it’s hard to keep up with my favourite blogs now that I’m back at work, but I’m trying to make as much use of my lunch breaks and evenings as possible. #puddinglove

Brilliant Bridie, I love reading posts that showcase other bloggers and their blog posts. It’s such a brilliant way to reward those, and also to spread the blogging love! I’ve read a few of these posts and they are fab especially The Frenchie Mummy. There is also one blogger here that I hadn’t come across. This is why these posts are so useful! Well done on co-hosting #stayclassy (I really need to link up to that). Thanks so much for linking up this week at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x
