What I’ve Loved Reading This Week – 16th July

Happy Weekend! This week has been a busy but lovely one for me as my Mum has been staying with us and we’ve had lots of time to spend together with Emma. I also got another article published on The Huffington Post (yay!) and started hosting the #DreamTeam linky with Annette from 3 Little Buttons. I’ve been blogging lots this week, but also reading lots and just wanted to share with you my favourite picks from the week…hope you enjoy them!

Mr Wrong: Clara’s Internet Date From Hell had me howling with laughter, so brilliantly written and full of suspense. It was a first discovery of the Utterly Feral blog for me, and so glad it was linked up to #DreamTeam! I mean, ladies, we all have a worst date story, but this one will have you cringing for poor Clara. Definitely worth a read for a guaranteed giggle.

-I loved this post on How To Beat A Blogging Block by the fantastic Ky at Clementine Rocks. I’ve been feeling the odd pangs of blogger’s block over the past couple of weeks and Ky has some fab tips to revive your inspiration to keep writing. I found this really useful and some pointers here that I hadn’t thought of.

Love From Mim posted a brilliant article called 5 Ways To Fake Being Happy Until You Actually Are, which I thought was incredibly uplifting. I’ve always felt that being happy can be a choice you make, and I especially love her tip to make other’s happy and in turn you feel happy yourself. I’m a big advocate for this and I loved her inspiring post.

-Since becoming Mum to Emma, I’ve found myself thinking quite negatively about my body at times and struggling to get the balance right with exercising a little but not too much. The Mum Project posted an uplifting article about preventing those negative thoughts about our bodies and to be proud! The Twitter and Facebook challenge is called #PayBeautyForward and I thought it a brilliant read.

-This debut vlog from Dr Mummykins is brilliant! I was very excited to hear that she’s beginning to vlog as I think her writing is so useful. It sounds silly but often I don’t know where to turn when Emma is poorly but not poorly enough to need to see the doctor. Her video How To Manage A Fever  is fab – what a natural on camera, even with her adorable kids in the background! Check out her YouTube channel when you get the chance..

-My final favourite (yes I chose 6 posts which is a beautifully uneven number) is A Lifetime of Loneliness by Sparkles and Stretchmarks. I love Hayley’s style of writing – so raw and honest, and this one I really resonated with. I discovered Hayley’s blog a couple of weeks ago and am hooked.

So that rounds up my top 5 6 reads for the week – hope you enjoyed it and would love to know your suggestions of wonderful posts, so do let me know in the comments below!
