I’m Going To #BML 2016!

In a month, I will be jetting off to London to attend BritMums Live 2016 and I’m so excited! Even though I used to travel up and down from Brighton to London often before having Emma, it’s a real treat to go to London for the weekend. It means one night of uninterrupted sleep! Is it bad that I am also overly excited about that?! BritMums Live is  is the largest blogger conference in the UK with over 500 bloggers attending so I am preparing to get my confident hat on.

It looks like it will be a jam-packed day, starting at 9am and finishing at 7pm, and there will be various talks about improving blogs, how to monetise them and improve SEO. I’m still only 2 months into writing my blog so I’m keen to learn more, it’s so easy to be tempted to just write write write but I know I do need to learn more about the SEO side of things..at the moment I find it all quite daunting!

One of things I am most excited about is meeting some of the lovely bloggers I’ve “met” over the past couple of months, especially Emma from Island Living 365, Katie from Mummy in a Tutu, Helen from Just Saying Mum and Lucy from Occupation (M)other. It’s been so lovely getting to know these girls and the support on each other’s blog is pretty wonderful. It will be so fab to meet in person! A few of them have also been shortlisted for BiB’s awards and I’d love if they were to win as we’re all rooting for them 🙂

So without further ado, I’m writing this post to join in with a linky to get to know some other bloggers attending the conference…so here’s a bit about me!

My name: Bridget – though most people call me Bridge. Bridie is my boyfriend’s nickname for me, which is an Irish nickname for Bridget.

My blog: Bridie By The Sea My blog is a parenting and lifestyle blog, following my life by the sea bringing up our 1 year old and 12 year old stepson.

Find me on social media at:

What do I look like: I’m a shortass 5’2″ brunette. Also I’m half Australian, half Chinese so ever so slightly oriental looking. I aim to shake off the mum bun for the first time in a long time so I look a little less like a sleep deprived zombie!

Is this my first blogging event? Yes it is! I’m a little nervous about it, but also excited as I know lots of people are feeling the same. I very much hope my nervous laugh doesn’t come and say hello but fear it might!

What do I hope to gain from #BML16 I’m really looking forward to learning a bit on the ways I can improve my blog. I am also super excited about meeting some of my blogging friends and also maybe a few bloggers I consider to be blogging royalty, such as Aby from You Baby Me Mummy and Becky from Cuddle Fairy; hope I won’t go all starstruck!

My tips for a great conference: It’s my first time so not sure on advice but I’m going to try and be myself, smile and have fun! Oh and wear flats because I am hopeless in heels and that would be a sure fire way to ensure I fall flat on my face 🙂

So that’s it – that’s me. Are you going to #BML16? I am so looking forward to meeting everyone and hope you’ll come say hello!

Awww Emma just told me that you’re staying at the same hotel as her, me and Just Saying Mum. Will be lovely to meet a fellow shortass dark haired blogging chick! Oh and one of my sisters lives in Brighton so we have a fair bit in common! x

Ahhhh so excited to meet you!! And I too am overly excited about the full night’s sleep I’ll be getting, in fact that was a big motivation for booking a ticket! The sessions look really interesting too though of course, like Emma said we’ll learn loads! #triballove
